Carmen D. Bowen-Bush born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Carmen is self-taught artist. She attended Cincinnati Public School and received an Associate Degree at University of Cincinnati, in addition studies at the Art Academy Cincinnati., She also works in other genres of art and has created pieces for Associate Professor Tarrence Corbin of University of Cincinnati.

In 2000 Carmen participated in the Thirty Men and Tabletop fund-raiser, which was sponsored by Robert S.Duncanson Society At the Taft Museum of Art. After living in Germany for three years she decided to totally devote her time to full time painting and exhibiting her work. Works are being displayed and sold at Art Beyond Boundaries, New World Art Studio, New American Art Gallery 11, New Vision United Methodist Church; were Associate Professor Cynthia Lockhart of University of Cincinnati and Artist purchased one piece.

Carmen has participated in The Holidays Incorporated Cincinnati Chapter, were two piece of art work was sold; Randon Hill Farm Barn Burner Benefit Art Show where e several pieces of art were sold; the 12th Annual Hood Is Bigger than You Think’ tour; Music Festival at the Season Good Pavilion Eden Park; The Frank Duveneck Art Cultural Center in Covington, KY; The Culture Feast at the Museum Center; Pendleton Art Center; Black History Month at the Westin Hotel; and 2nd Sunday Art on Main for which she has been written about as well as other Internet exposures.

Carmen has been painting since 1984; having been influenced by travel, music fashion and family she gravitates toward the abstract with an appetite for color that arouses one's emotions in her work.
